Myths, tall tales and some truth
The lonely, tough and quiet cowboys of movies, TV shows and books are very different from the hard-working cowboys of the real world who ran free-range cattle on the North American plains. The period when cowboys were an important part of the Wild West was short - from the end of the American Civil War (1861-1865) for about 30 years. Then the new invention of barbed wire, shrinking cattle herds and a new system of ranching forced the cowboy to become a rancher instead. At its peak, there were around 50 000 cowboys, many of whom were Indians and Mexicans. It was the Mexican herder, for example, who introduced the lasso into cowboy culture. In our exciting Wild West Stunt Show you will experience breathtaking stunts, fast horses and fast-paced stories.
