The story of High Chaparral began in 1966, when Bengt Erlandsson, better known as Big Bengt ,opened the gates for the very first time. Driven by imagination, determination and true Småland grit, he created a place that stood as a personal manifesto for freedom and adventure.
What started as a bold dream has grown into one of Sweden’s most beloved tourist destinations. Today, High Chaparral is run by Big Bengt’s grandsons, Emil and Philip Erlandsson, who continue to develop the park with the same pioneering spirit. We invite you to step into the story, and become part of the adventure.
