Yes, pets are allowed. However, pets are only allowed in our camping cabins, on campsites and in selected Guldby and Storstugor cabins. You can choose to add pets when booking.

If you stay in one of our cottages in Guldbyn, Vagnsborgen, in a large cottage or a mobile home, free wifi is included. Password is in the information package received at check-in.

There is no wifi in the park.

Resident parking is available outside each cabin and inside the campsite. Parking is free throughout your stay for our overnight guests.

You enter the registration number of the vehicle you arrived in at check-in at Big Bengt Reception. When you have checked out of your cabin, the vehicle is parked in the large visitor parking lot. If you have a caravan or motorhome, we have special parking for this in the large visitor parking lot.

Tip, for those who are staying overnight but wish to visit the park before check-in, you are always welcome to Big Bengt Reception to register your vehicle for free parking. Please note that this does not apply to the charging points for electric or hybrid cars.

All our cottages include cleaning.

Cancellation of accommodation can be made with a full refund up to one week before the visit with cancellation protection. Cancellation protection is non-refundable. Cancellation of accommodation can be made with a full refund up to one month before the visit without cancellation protection.If canceled later than this or if you do not show up, nothing of the amount charged will be refunded.

You can reschedule your accommodation to another date within the current season free of charge up to 48 hours beforethe stated check-in time (15:00).

Cancellation protection costs SEK 299 per accommodation unit.

Check-in to our cottages takes place at Big Bengt reception between 15.00-20.00. If you arrive after 20.00, please notify the reception at 0370-827 85. Check-out for all accommodations no later than 11.00.

You can bring your own barbecue and grill outside your cabin or at your campsite.

If you don't want to bring your own barbecue, there is a barbecue area on the small island in our bathing lake. What better way to end the evening than in front of a fire and grilling sausages? Remember to bring your own charcoal.

Please note that fire bans may occur during the summer and that barbecue areas may therefore be closed at short notice. Please stay updated with Gnosjö municipality's possible fire bans.

Bed linen is not included in the accommodation, but is available to rent for 249:-/set. You can easily choose this when you book your accommodation.

Our former hotel, the Wild West Inn, has closed to visitors and has been converted into staff accommodation. However, we have many other accommodations to offer. You can read more about our different accommodations here.

Absolutely, visitors with a roof tent are very welcome to stay at our campsite. You book a campsite as usual. You can book a camping pitch here.

Toilets and showers are available in our service building located at the campsite entrance. Our central service building, which is adapted for disabled people, has a kitchen (induction hob, microwave and oven), dishwashing room (hand washing stations), laundry room (washing machine and dryer), toilet and shower room for Cowboys and Cowgirls respectively, and a family shower/toilet. Please note that you need to bring your own pots, pans and cooking utensils.

In our central service building there is a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer. Washing time is booked in the Camping Shop and the key is also signed out there. Washing time 3 hours. Available between 8.00 and 21.00. Detergent is available for purchase in the Camping Shop.

In connection with your booking, you can choose to book a travel cot for babies for SEK 199 for the entire stay and then also includes duvet, pillow and bedding. Please note that we only have a limited number of travel cots.

Absolutely! There are many different food options to choose from in the park and there is something for everyone! You can also get lactose and gluten-free options as well as vegetarian dishes. Around the park, you'll also find kiosks and cafés where you can buy ice cream, hot dogs, popcorn, drinks and snacks.

When the park is closed, we have several restaurants outside the area that are open in the evening.

When the park is closed for the day during the season, the Diligensen restaurant and Howdy Pizzeria are still open. The restaurant and pizzeria are located just outside the entrance. At the campsite you will also find Restaurant Bryggan, as well as a mini shop with the most important groceries. You can find all opening hours under each restaurant.

At other times of the year, all restaurants are closed.

No, you are not allowed to bring alcohol into the park, but it is possible to bring alcohol into the campsite and accommodation. The Bryggan and Diligensen restaurants serve alcoholic drinks.

Absolutely! We have several cozy picnic areas and barbecue areas around the park. It is also possible to sit indoors and eat your food in Landoffice, Kristinastugan and Minnie's.

Served at Restaurant Diligensen from 08.00-10.00. Prices: 0-2 years free, 2-5 years SEK 79, 6-15 years SEK 99, 16 years upwards SEK 169.

Breakfast can be pre-booked either in advance, at check-in or on site in the Diligensen restaurant.

Absolutely! In all our warming huts, Land Office, Kristinastugan and Minnies there are microwaves to borrow.

It is not possible to book the train journey in advance and the trains do not run according to any timetable. There are several reasons for this:

• Our steam locomotives are almost 100 years old, which means they sometimes have to be taken out of service for maintenance at short notice.
• Many people want to ride the train, so when the cars are full, the train departs from Main Street.
• When it is hot in summer, there is a certain risk of fire. To avoid possible sparks igniting the dry grass, water tanks are put on the trains to water the rails, which slows down the trains somewhat.

The train ride costs SEK 65 per person. All aboard - now the train is leaving for Old Mexico! We're keeping our fingers crossed that there are no problems on the way... 🚂🌵

No, you don't have to - just take a seat in the stands.

Yes, all Shows are included in the entrance fee.

Well, that's how real it can be when it's all pretend. If you find enough "gold", you can trade it in for a High-Chaparral dollar.

Gold panning costs €45.

Yes, High Chaparral's own steamboat, the Natchez, runs on a schedule. For the current schedule, please visit the River City harbor. It is possible to board both in River City Old Mexico. The boat ride is included in the admission price.

For each season, we hire about 350 people and we can almost promise that it is one of Sweden's most fun summer jobs! We are looking for actors, animal keepers, shop assistants, restaurant staff, receptionists and many more different roles.

The Wild West is in Småland, or at least High Chaparral is. You'll find us in Kulltorp in the middle of the Gnosjö region, located between Gnosjö, Anderstorp and Värnamo. Find us by car from:

Jönköping
Take the E4 south. At Skillingaryd, take road 152 towards Bredaryd/Hillerstorp/Skillingaryd/Tofteryd. Follow road 152 until you reach High Chaparral.

Gothenburg
Take road 40 towards Jönköping. Take exit 83-Viaredsmotet and continue on road 27. At Anderstorp, take the exit towards Anderstorpsvägen. Follow road 152 until you reach High Chaparral.

Halmstad
Take road 26 north. At the height of Smålandsstenar, turn right onto road 153. At the height of Bredaryd, turn left onto road 152. Follow road 152 until you reach High Chaparral.

High Chaparral does not have an online shop.

The High Chaparral Trading Post and Outlet is located outside the park and offers a wide range of hats, pickaxes, souvenirs and bargains in the outlet.

Yes men! On hot days it can be nice to cool off! There is a swimming lake at the campsite.

High Chaparral is visited by many families with young and old children and we therefore strive to keep the park as smoke-free as possible. For our smoking guests we have established smoking areas in several places around the park, see map.

There are 13 electric vehicle charging points at High Chaparral.
The chargers are Type 2 Cable, approximately 7kW.

High Chaparral opened its doors for the first time in 1966. Here you can read the full story of Big Bengt and how he started High Chaparral.

The Confederate flag can symbolize resistance to the abolition of slavery and is often associated with racism. While some view it as a nostalgic symbol of the American South, its meaning is highly problematic and divisive.
For this reason, Confederate flags are not permitted at High Chaparral. 

In 2021, the vision was clarified to "The world's best Wild West for families with children," and it was in line with this reinforced vision that High Chaparral the association historically known as the Western Club and then, since 1992, High Chaparral , commonly known as Citizens.

You are welcome to bring your dog into the park if it is on a leash and you pick up after it and do not disturb other visitors. However, we do not allow dogs in restaurants and eateries.

It is possible to book accommodation with pets in the camping cabins and in a limited number of Guldbystugor and Storstugor.

For your dog’s well-being, dogs are not allowed on the train to Old Mexico, as loud bangs and sudden effects occur during the ride. The same applies to the Hunt Bandits experience in River City.

Dogs are also not permitted where pyrotechnics are used, including the Wild West Stunt Show in River city, the Lucky Luke Show in Dalton city Annie & Billy visiting Dalton city.

There are water bowls placed around the park for our four-legged visitors. 🐶

If you or someone in your party has a hidden disability, which for example makes it a little more difficult to stand in line, please seek out one of our entrance hosts who will help you further. We want to be an accessible park for all our visitors.

All payments can be made with the most common bank and credit cards (VISA and Mastercard).

Those wishing to use cash can load High Chaparral's own cash card with either cash or a debit card. The card is valid for payment at our food outlets, kiosks and shops inside the park. You can load the card or redeem the remaining amount at the Bank or the Camping Shop. With the card, children can shop for themselves in the park.

The cash card is also a convenient option for children who want to make purchases on their own, and for guests who prefer not to use a bank card.The card can be loaded with up to SEK 3,000 and is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Please note that High Chaparral cannot replace lost or stolen cards.

There are many picnic tables and areas for those who want to bring their own snacks or barbecue. The grills are lit between 11-17.

Please note that fire bans may occur during the summer and that barbecue areas may therefore be closed at short notice. Please stay updated with Gnosjö municipality's possible fire bans. If you are unsure of what applies, please ask in the chat.

You can easily get around the park with a stroller. However, strollers are not allowed inside the River City stunt arena, but there is a stroller parking area right next to the arena.

It is also not possible to bring strollers into our restaurants, but there are outdoor seating areas or picnic tables near or directly adjacent to all dining areas.

Almost everywhere in the park is accessible by wheelchair. We have a number of marked parking spaces for people with reduced mobility. Wheelchairs are also available to borrow at the main entrance.

Accessible toilets are available in several locations throughout the park, including inside the restaurant Diligensen and just inside the main entrance.

It's fine to leave the park and re-enter, just make sure to get a stamp at the entrance or from the Sheriff before leaving the park.

Nurses are always on hand at High Chaparral , and you can visit our infirmary, which is located near the main entrance.

Lost items are requested at the Bank on Main Street where we collect all found items. If we haven't found the item yet, we will take your information and phone number so we can help you if it is found.

Yes, we have set up a breastfeeding room with a changing table inside the entrance.

Parking costs SEK 25 per hour and SEK 85 for a full day (06.00-24.00). In the electric car park, it costs SEK 65 per hour and SEK 175 for a full day.

It is also possible to buy season parking for SEK 185. Season parking is also purchased in the app and is valid per vehicle.

Guests staying in our cottages or at the campsite park free of charge.

If you prefer to check in at your accommodation after your day in the park, you can register your vehicle upon arrival to avoid paying parking fees during the day. 

Wagons are available to rent just inside both the main entrance and the camping entrance for SEK 50.
