How did you come to work at High Chaparral?
I studied theater at Markaryds Folkhögskola and was told by someone who had previously worked at High Chaparral that it was a good and fun acting job. I had previously visited the park and immediately started youtubing clips and later decided to apply.
What do you do at High Chaparral?
I work on the train at High Chaparral as a train robber.
What does your work involve?
It involves a lot of different fun things. One day you can be a train robber out in Buffalo Springs and the next day you're in charge of security on the train. My job is a service-oriented acting job. We do improv theater for the visitors, but at the same time we can go out of character and answer questions and be helpful to the visitors if something comes up.
What qualities do you think are important to enjoy and do a good job?
To be flexible, spontaneous and positive because no two days are the same. The visitors are new and sometimes you are faced with new situations that you have never encountered before. Cooperation is a good word too. We work and have fun together with the visitors.
What is the absolute best thing about working at High Chaparral?
That it is so terribly fun. I laugh a lot at work and I am strengthened by my work. Meeting the visitors and working with my colleagues is unbeatable. We are a big summer family that works with theater and history and conveys this to the visitors.
How would you describe the culture/environment at High Chaparral?
High Chaparral is a very lovely environment to work in. It hardly feels like a workplace, but the park is more like a living city where we all have our tasks. We work across borders and greet each other in the morning. The Dalton brothers rob Candy store and the settlers take the train over to Mexico.
What do you do when you are not working at High Chaparral?
Then I work as a theater and dance teacher at the cultural school and Studio Move it in Växjö. I am also in a musical with Linneateatern in Växjö.
What are your future plans?
I want to work more in theater and dance both for myself but also with children and young people. I also want to travel to learn more about these subjects and to see the world.
Do you have a favorite spot at High Chaparral?
My favorite place is obviously on the train, but there's another place that I think a lot of people miss when they're there, it's next to the Lucky Luke arena. There's a sheep pen and a bridge that leads over to the church. It's cozy there!
